Packing for RDFZ Exchange

Please pack light! Your host family will likely have a washer and dryer. Bring 3 changes of clean clothes for the seven nights you will be in Beijing. Bring one set of nice clothes (not necessarily school dress, but nice).
  • Try to get your items in a bag that you can carry on the aircraft (9" by 14" by "22). If you need to check your bag, it is fine. But as much as possible, travel light, and please don't bring a giant bag on wheels.
  • The weather in Beijing in March will be similar to the weather in Boston: cool, breezy days, some warm afternoons, possibly some rain or even snow. Please bring a warm jacket, but not winter gear.
  • Bring 2 pairs of shoes, one for comfort, one for walking or hiking overland. We don't plan on any major expeditions, but you should be prepared for an occasional walk or hike.
  • A flashlight and portable umbrella might come in handy.
  • Beijing has trouble with pollution. We will take precautions but it should not be a problem for a short term trip.
  • Bring some small gifts for your host student and his/her parents. Tabor gear will be appreciated by your student host.
